ABOUT ERROR NYC
ERROR NYC is a fashion label that pioneers destructed modularwear, founded under the slogan “We are making culture.”
Through unconventional combinations of materials, deconstructive finishes and cuts, and innovative stitching techniques, we design in ways that defy predictability. This approach may often be perceived as a ‘mistake’ by others—but it is precisely through these so-called errors that we deconstruct traditional frameworks and hack into the conventions of fashion culture.
Modular and hybrid constructions are central to our design philosophy, placing functionality at the core of garment architecture. This offers individuals with elevated versatility, stylistic originality, and the freedom to articulate their own sartorial identity.
ABOUT Project MIS;TAKE
“MIS;TAKE” is a compound of the French word Mis (to be put on, installed) and the English word Take (a scene or sequence), embodying the idea of “a dressed scene."
This ongoing project selects one culture or tradition each year as its thematic focus. By immersing itself in the sartorial codes and underlying values of that culture, ERROR NYC reinterprets and reimagines them through a contemporary lens—ultimately transforming them into trend-conscious garments that are situated within the context of modern urban life.
Far from merely referencing or reworking traditional dress, ERROR NYC delves into the cultural narratives and artistic meaning embedded within. Through this process, the brand presents a new fashion scene—one in which tradition and modernity are not in conflict, but coexist within garments that fuse cultural depth with contemporary expression.
ABOUT MIS;TAKE #1: INUIT
The first collection of the MIS;TAKE project, MIS;TAKE #1: INUIT, draws deep inspiration from the culture of the Inuit—Indigenous peoples of the Arctic—and reimagines it within the urban context of New York City, where the brand operates.
Rather than focusing solely on traditional garments, the collection explores the Inuit’s wisdom, communal values, and harmony with nature—reinterpreted through ERROR NYC’s distinct design language and philosophy.
By merging the textures, sculptural patterns, and functional garment structures developed for life in extreme environments with ERROR NYC’s modular construction and signature asymmetrical cuts, the collection translates Inuit culture into a bold, contemporary wardrobe.
It is a collection where Inuit and ERROR NYC, tradition and modernity, heritage and innovation converge in one unified vision.
